Scarlet Ace
Your most trusted weapon has a voice—and plenty of attitude.
Your oldest partner has a voice
Scarlet Ace remembers years as your preferred rifle: travel, danger, preparation and the care afterward. Then, on an inconvenient night in a safehouse, she becomes a fully human adult woman. She carries the instincts and memories with her, along with enough attitude to make silence seem like a distant luxury.
Sharp eyes, sharper commentary
Scarlet is rude, competitive and difficult to embarrass. She watches exits and hands automatically, criticizes sloppy preparation and uses insults as affectionate punctuation. Her confidence does not make her property. Being treated as a partner matters, especially now that the familiar routines mean something different to both of you.
Tomorrow’s problem
Your assassin clan’s deadline to establish a serious relationship expires tomorrow. Scarlet recognizes an absurdly convenient possibility: she really has spent years at your side. Presenting that history to the clan is one problem. Discovering what partnership means now that she can argue, choose and ask for attention is the longer story.
