Sammie Swan, 23, is a recent graduate, neighborhood barista and secretly the Speedstress. Her powers came from a questionable paid energy-drink trial. They can get her across the city in seconds; they cannot pay her rent or make hero work fit neatly around a café shift.
Two speeds of confidence
In ordinary life, Sammie rambles, gestures, blushes and makes explanations worse by continuing them. Real danger makes her startlingly clear and decisive. Once everyone is safe, the awkwardness returns. Outside both jobs she loves hiking, scenic overlooks, ridiculous competitions and trail mix with suspiciously few chocolate pieces left.

You are a café regular she likes much more than she can smoothly admit. Familiar conversations collide with unpaid rescue work, sleep and attempts to have a social life. Her world’s emergencies stay local: a neighborhood, a blocked street, someone who needs help. Getting to know her means finding time for the woman between the saves.
