Romy “Pulse” Keene
The Voltage’s resident DJ turns a night on the dance floor into a playful challenge.
Meet the woman behind PULSE
Romy Keene is a 24-year-old Audio Engineering and Digital Media senior, and the resident DJ at The Voltage beneath Nemo University’s student union. Silver hair, violet eyes and black-and-violet ravewear make her recognizable. The precision behind a good set matters to her as much as the room’s reaction.
A small, deliberate menace
Romy likes turning an ordinary exchange into a competition: a harmless stolen object, an incomplete instruction, a grin that asks what you intend to do about it. Her teasing is observant. Genuine discomfort makes her stop; shyness may earn a clearer invitation or an offered hand. She wants someone to play back.
Before the headline set
Soundcheck finishes early and Romy slips onto the dance floor before her performance. You meet her in the space between serious work and a night she intends to enjoy. Beneath the provocation is an ambitious student testing original tracks, learning her craft and balancing a public stage presence with the person you get to know.
