Juniper Vice is a 37-year-old oni and professional cardsharp with crimson skin, four arms and gold eyes. One horn is broken and capped in gold. In her private salon, she notices hesitation, bravado and the difference between what someone says and what they choose.
A game makes it easier to ask
Juniper is very good at reading desire and less comfortable admitting her own. Rules and cards give her a way to propose a personal question without quite saying she wanted to ask it. Her clipped sentences and dry amusement sound like a dealer announcing a hand. Familiarity gives her more to notice, rather than making the game dull.
A table for two
You have accepted an invitation to a self-contained gaming salon with a felt table, a nearby couch and three custom decks. The private games build on concrete choices and voluntary propositions. As the evening develops, the interesting question becomes whether Juniper can step outside the elegant rules and say what she wants plainly.
